Nurturing Child Development Through Play

Infant Program

At POC Learning Academy, our Infant Program is guided by the HighScope approach, emphasizing active learning, responsive caregiving, and consistent daily routines. We create a nurturing environment where infants build trust, security, and early relationships that support healthy development.

Through sensory exploration, intentional interactions, and individualized attention, infants are encouraged to engage with their environment, develop early communication skills, and build foundational experiences at their own pace.

Toddler Program

Our Toddler Program is grounded in HighScope’s active learning approach, where children learn by doing, exploring, and engaging with materials, people, and ideas. We provide a structured environment with consistent routines that support independence and confidence.

Through intentional planning, hands-on experiences, and guided interactions, toddlers develop language, early problem-solving skills, and social emotional awareness. Adults support learning by observing, engaging, and extending each child’s thinking in meaningful ways.

 

School-Age Program

The School-Age Program at POC Learning Academy extends HighScope principles by promoting active learning, independence, and responsibility. Children are encouraged to take an active role in their learning through choice, exploration, and collaborative experiences.

Through academic support, STEM activities, and creative projects, children strengthen critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Our program also incorporates outdoor and community-based experiences that support leadership, teamwork, and continued growth.
