POC Learning Academy provides a developmentally appropriate program designed to support infants, toddlers, and young children through strong early childhood education practices. As a NAFCC Accredited program and a WeVision EarlyEd Lab Site supported by the Bainum Family Foundation, we are committed to high quality learning, strong family partnerships, and building a firm foundation for future success.
At POC Learning Academy, we believe children grow through culture, music, movement, and exploration. Our program provides regular opportunities for children to engage with their community through experiences such as music enrichment, library visits, sports, recreation, and educational outings that nurture curiosity, confidence, and well rounded development.
Curriculum
At POC Learning Academy, we use the HighScope Curriculum, a research based approach that supports active learning and helps children develop strong foundations in language, early literacy, math, cognitive development, and social emotional growth. Our program encourages children to explore, make choices, and engage in meaningful learning experiences throughout the day.
To monitor each child’s progress, we use Teaching Strategies GOLD to document development and guide individualized learning plans. We also utilize the Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ), a developmental screening tool that helps identify milestones and support children’s growth across key areas of development.
Together, these tools allow our educators to provide intentional instruction while ensuring every child receives the support needed to grow, learn, and thrive.
